If you are not an authorized user (FMCSA, State Partner, or motor carrier), please return to the Safety Planner home page.

How to Log In via the FMCSA Portal

To protect your data and make access more secure, Safety Planner now requires multifactor authentication. Users will no longer enter a Portal user ID and passwords or a U.S. DOT Number and PIN.

  1. Step One Visit https://portal.fmcsa.dot.gov.
  2. Step Two Select the appropriate login method.
    • DOT Employees and Contractors: select MyAccess.
    • Motor Carriers and State Partners: select Login.gov.
  3. Step Three After logging in to the FMCSA Portal, select "Safety Planner (ETA)" from the “Available FMCSA Systems” list, then click the “Go” button. This will take you to the Safety Planner home page as a logged in user.

FMCSA is using Login.gov to allow you to sign in to Safety Planner safely and securely.
