10.15 Must the household goods motor carrier determine the weight of a shipment?

Yes, the household goods motor carrier must: 

  • Determine the weight of each non-binding estimate shipment transported before assessing charges. 

  • Weigh the shipment upon a certified scale. 

  • Provide a written explanation of volume to weight conversions, when providing an estimate by volume and convert the volume to weight.
